'A Perfect Progression' reviewed by Tim Holden @ CrossRythms
Tolu Okeowo is a UK-based pianist and composer and though the sleeve photo might suggest that this is an instrumental project, in fact vocalists from Tolu's church axis are evident. The opening track, "Lord Help Me", starts with a gentle piano track and the smooth vocals of Michelle Marbie Davies followed by the slightly more edgy "I Will Wait" from Chibundu Onuzo. "How Much" (parts one and two) offers spoken poetry by Bola Fakorede about a post conversion experience over a slick backing track. Read more here.
'With These Hands - Quiet Times' @ Cross Rhythms
So imagine what it would be like to enter a church that was quiet apart from the peaceful playing of a grand piano elegantly played by Tolu Okeowo, performing Psalms and worship songs that you recognise but don't quite know all the words to. This is an advantage, as if you tried to sing along, you would miss the Godly peace of the music. Read more here.

Good album. Mellow and insightful. Great solo performances, backing vocal arrangements, orchestral infusion and most importantly piano dexterity. Looking forward to hearing more from this artist!! Go to the iTunes website.

I choose to round off the first installment of this list with Mr Okeowo. He is a recent discovery of mine, and I am still giddy with excitement. The music is so beautiful that I was totally short of words. Its quiet, chillout music, but its sooooo goooood!! Read more here.
